Hong Kong Mahjong – Arts and Culture

Mahjong culture has a long history and can be considered a witness to the changes in Hong Kong’s history. It is played with small rectangular tiles made of bamboo, bone, or plastic, which are intricately decorated with patterns or characters. In Northern Mahjong, each set consists of 136 tiles, while in Southern Mahjong, there are eight additional flower tiles, including the seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and the flowers (Plum, Bamboo, Orchid, Chrysanthemum), making a total of 144 tiles.

However, with the passage of time, we now have more entertainment options, and interpersonal communication has decreased, leading to the gradual loss of many traditional cultures…Hong Kong Mahjong Company, not only continues the efforts of previous generations but also injects new elements into the Mahjong culture industry. Sharing our common beliefs, we strive to contribute to cultural heritage.
